Quotes Book

As stated in my very first post, one of my summer goals was to make a quotes book. I'm hoping to include tons of quotes, little stories, or passages that move me. I got this idea from the movie A Walk to Rememberwhen Jamie Sullivan talks about a book full of quotes that her mother liked and passed down to her. I want to build up this book and then pass it down to my children and their children and so on; also I hope that they keep the book alive by writing quotes that they like. How neat would have been if I had something like this from my great-grandparents?

P.S. I am trying to find a better title for my quotes book. Any suggestions readers?! Just leave them on the comments section :)

50 Shades of Grey

everything from Urban Outfitters!

It's so much fun to rock printed jeans! There's nothing like being confident and wearing something different. Safe is boring! It takes a more daring person to pull off printed jeans and people respect that.  I usually pair them with a solid shirt and sometimes I'll wear a colored scarf similar to the color of the printed jeans to balance out the patterns.

Take a risk and stand out!

Denim on Denim

Nordstrom top, Target jean button down, Forever 21 vest, Charlotte Russe shorts, Steve Madden boots

Sometimes I wake up in the morning and think to myself, "I have nothing to wear." I know we all have those days when you don't feel like wearing ANYTHING in your closet. You can't help it, but you have absolutely no motivation to dress in pretty colors or wear a sophisticated blazer with block colors. You no longer have to dread those days! Fall on my go-to shoes: brown combat boots! With such little effort, combat boots add so much personality to anything and everything. I'm also a huge denim girl. I love how you can pair denim with anything, including more denim! I know it says crazy, but layering denim on denim is so hot especially when they're different colors. These are my two favorite casual pieces together.

Sock Bun

Rarely, I have an amazing day of hair. We've all had them, when we wake up and our hair looks like we just styled it; I absolutely adore these days. But on those sadder days, I wake up with crazy hair and I HAVE to do something about it. It takes so much time to straighten, curl, or braid my hair and sometimes I'm just not in the mood to do all that work. That's when I revert to the sock bun! It's so easy and it looks adorable. You're first few times might be tricky, but trust me if I can do it, so can you! It took me some practice until I got mine to look the way I wanted. The perfect sock bun will come!

What you need:
  • a clean sock
  • scissors
  • rubberband/ hair elastic
10 Easy Steps:
1. Cut off the toe of your sock

2. Pick one side of the sock

3. Roll the toe-less sock into a donut shape and keep rolling it back

4. Put your hair in a high ponytail or whatever spot on your head you want it to be

5. Brush out your ponytail (it makes it easier)

6. Put the hair inside the rolled sock

7. Make sure the rolled sock is up to the end of your hair

8. Tuck in the tips of your hair around the sock

9. Keep rolling your hair around the sock until it reaches your head

10. Check to make sure no part of the sock is showing. If it does, lightly move your hair so it covers

Enjoy your perfect sock bun and get ready for tons of compliments! :)

Easy, Breezy, Beautiful

Pink Stripes skirt, Free People top, Forever 21 sweater, Wet Seal sandals, Michael Kors watch

I know I already told you all that I love mint in this post, but I really do love the color mint! So of course I have to rep my mint skirt! On this skirt, the pleats create such a light and airy vibe. The great thing about it is, is that it looks feminine on any girl.

Make sure you try combining different textures and patterns, because it can make all the difference in an outfit. So please, please, please start wearing some mint! Do it for me :)
